map and territory / re-assigment 1(d)

again: thank you for the fine work last week. as discussed with eli and thomas, it would be fine to re-assess and re-contextualise your work f rom assignment 1(d) to become more (architectural) map(ing)s, i.e establishing a body of material using mostly  already produced material to re-manufacturing larger "maps"/ mappings  using various mapping strategies. ( skjolden theme more indirect this time)

so as to have more space (and overview) for these extrapolations, you might consider the use of A3 format (portrait). thus text and other elements could be added  with better ease for printing.

consider each page as part of a larger (map) whole, that can unfold on a table or be assembled, hung on the wall(s).

all new material will be as considered: map(s) of some conditions of/in the barracks. under any circumstances: it will be valuable (memorable) testimonial material as the spaces in the barracks have already been altered beyond recognitions [:-(]

remember to text all the maps carefully according to your "story-line"; be factual and frank: it will be poetic.
for those of you working with video and or other mixed media, use primnt-outs to re-create "maps".

give this work priority for the informal crit on thursday. you might use the continuous work work with the books (and seminars with andrea) to establish a more coherent view on para-text and the like to included in the mappings.

here are some informal links on para text, map/territories, blind men and elephants. included also is a link on contemporary architectural zines
